'I was brought up in a suburb of Oxford, surrounded by Music in one form or another, and began to learn Piano around the age of 8. I went on to the Clarinet at the age of 12, an instrument that I actually chose by mistake, after hearing and liking the sound of an Oboe I got the names mixed up! A twist of fate perhaps? After a couple of years on the Clarinet I found the Saxophone my initial influence was the wow factor of Charlie Parker, but after hearing the masterful James Brown around the age of 14 I was hooked, and pretty much switched off to everything else. Through his music I discovered the artists that have influenced the music I write and perform today Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, Bootsy Collins, to name but a few.

I spent my time through School and University hooked on another great all round, but particularly Funk artist, Prince. His diversity has definitely shaped the way in which I think musically today, and his music is what I listen to 99% of the time. Narrow minded? Maybe.
Following a degree in Music Technology, I went on to focus my efforts into forging a career as a Saxophonist. As well as Saxophone, I also play Clarinet, Flute and Piano/Keyboards and have experience in Composition, Arranging, and Producing.
Creatively, I used to aspire to make something new, like most musicians do at some point or another, but right now Im just into writing the kind of music that Id wanna go out and play live; Funk!'
In addition to the work I do as a Saxophopnist, I also work as a Songwriter/Arranger/Producer. Visit the 'Songwriting & Production' section of this site for more. Click here for details of Saxophone setup
